It’s understood among humans to not walk out onto the playing surface while a sporting event is in progress. It’s not understood among other species in the animal kingdom.
A squirrel almost met its untimely demise during the women’s parallel giant slalom snowboarding event on Saturday in the PyeongChang Winter Olympics. Of all the places to run out onto the course, the damn rodent decided to do it right in front of a competitor.
That could have been ugly. Thankfully for all parties involved, there was no contact. And hopefully the squirrel has learned to never invade an Olympic event ever again.
