Sure, bath bombs can help soothe your skin, but they can also make bath water look downright Instagram-worthy. And instead of constantly shopping for bath bombs, In The Know’s latest “Home Hacks” episode will guide you through the step-by-step process of making your own bath bombs at home.

We’ve outlined all the supplies to buy, ingredients to use and steps you need in order to make DIY bath bombs. For a complete tutorial, be sure to watch the video above.

How to make bath bombs

Supplies you need:

  1. In a mixing bowl, add 1 cup baking soda and 1/2 cup epsom salt, and mix thoroughly.

  2. In a separate small bowl, add 3 teaspoons of castor oil, 2 teaspoons of essential oils, 3 drops of soap colorant (FYI, this won’t dye or stain your skin) and 1 teaspoon of water.

  3. Slowly add the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients until evenly combined.

  4. Next, slowly add 1/2 cup of citric acid to the rest of the ingredients.

  5. Tightly pack mixture into the bath bomb molds.

  6. Remove bath bombs from molds when ready to use.
