The Toronto Raptors have interviewed Jerry Stackhouse — coach of their development league affiliate, the Raptors 905 — for the NBA franchise’s head coaching opening, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Stackhouse met with the Raptors last week in Chicago during the NBA draft combine, league sources said.

After firing Dwane Casey, the Raptors set out on a coaching search and met with Milwaukee coach Mike Budenholzer last week before Budenholzer accepted the Bucks’ head coaching job. Toronto has also interviewed Raptors assistant coaches Nick Nurse and Rex Kalamian.

Stackhouse interviewed for the New York Knicks’ head coaching job and was a candidate before the team hired David Fizdale.

Stackhouse led the Raptors 905 to the G League championship game in both of his seasons as head coach. He joined Toronto as an assistant for the Raptors in 2015. In 2016-17, Stackhouse won G League Coach of the Year and helped lead the 905 to a championship. The team lost to the Austin Spurs in the G League finals this past season.

Stackhouse, 43, was a two-time All-Star in an 18-year playing career that began in 1995, when he was the third overall pick by the Philadelphia 76ers.
