Free-agent center Alex Len has agreed to a two-year, $8.5 million deal with the Atlanta Hawks, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Len received interest from several teams in recent days before finalizing an agreement with the Hawks on Saturday.

Len, the No. 5 overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft, has spent his five NBA seasons with the Phoenix Suns. As a restricted free agent last season, Len signed a one-year, $4.2 million qualifying offer to return to the Suns after exploring his options.

The 7-foot-1 big man is expected to play a significant role in the Hawks’ frontcourt rotation, which currently includes Dewayne Dedmon, John Collins and Omari Spellman.

In 69 games last season, Len averaged 8.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists and nearly one block per game.

He played one season at Maryland before entering the NBA in 2013.
