Marcus Thuram is a player who has been linked with FC Barcelona on multiple occasions in the past.

The 27-year-old forward, son of former Blaugrana star Lilian Thuram, spent a brief time at La Masia and was reportedly offered to the club last year when he was a free agent heading into the summer of 2023.

However, nothing came of it and the French international ended up signing for Inter Milan, where he has been thriving.

Barcelona interested in Thuram

And, if a report from Fichajes is to be believed, Thuram’s performances in Italy have seemingly put him on the radars of Barcelona.

Apart from the Catalans, their eternal rivals Real Madrid and Premier League heavyweights Liverpool are also said to be interested in the 27-year-old attacker.

Thuram, so far this season, has netted 11 goals and set up six more from 19 matches across all competitions for the Nerazzurri.

Capable of playing as a centre-forward or a left-winger, the Frenchman could be a good fit at Barça as he could provide essential cover to Robert Lewandowski in the No. 9 slot or add a different threat from the flanks.

However, the interest from Real Madrid and Liverpool could complicate matters somewhat for the Blaugrana, who are also looking at other players like Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Rafael Leao.

Furthermore, as per the report, Thuram has a release clause worth €85 million in his contract at Inter Milan which runs until 2028. Matching that figure would be a hurdle for Barcelona in their current economic situation.

So, it will be interesting to see how the situation surrounding the Frenchman evolves as three of the biggest clubs in Europe vie for his signing.
