At the end of a long night – for the New York Mets, for young shortstop Wilmer Flores, for a world that operates by the second – Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said he had no deal for Milwaukee Brewers center fielder Carlos Gomez and there would be none. Gomez, sources said, had been told by the Brewers that he was headed to the Mets, pending the medicals.
