Sources: Larry Sanders has no immediate plans to return to NBA after buyout with Bucks

As a contract buyout is finalized for Larry Sanders and the Milwaukee Bucks, the troubled center has no plans to pursue a deal to play with another NBA team this season, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Sanders could have been eligible to be part of another team's playoff roster by signing with one by March 1.

Sanders has had repeated violations of the NBA's anti-drug policy and hasn't shown an inclination to move immediately back into the league, sources said. Sanders will leave Milwaukee with a portion of the four-year, $44 million contract that he signed in 2014, spread over multiple years.

Sanders has tried to use his recent 10-game suspension to deal with his core personal issues and learn to live without marijuana use.

At his best, Sanders has proven to be a dominant defensive player and an emerging offensive threat. Sanders has been marginally productive since signing the extension. Nevertheless, suspensions and injuries have derailed his career over the past two seasons with the Bucks.

Sanders had been suspended for the final five games of the 2013-14 season for a positive marijuana test. Under league rules, his next positive test called for the 10-game suspension without pay.
