One source briefed on the Lakers' second meeting with Aldridge told Yahoo Sports: "They want to see if they can get it right."

The Lakers initially met with Aldridge shortly after the NBA's free-agent market opened at 12:01 a.m. ET on Wednesday, but Aldridge came away from the meeting unimpressed with the presentation because it was largely centered on branding and marketing opportunities. Lakers officials didn't focus enough on basketball in the initial meeting, sources said.

In addition to the Lakers, Aldridge has met with the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks and Toronto Raptors. The Miami Heat also are pursuing the possibility of meeting with Aldridge, sources said.

The Portland Trail Blazers, with whom Aldridge has played all nine seasons of his NBA career, have had ongoing conversations with him and his representatives. Blazers general manager Neil Olshey has been in constant contact with Aldridge for weeks and they're both going about their business in free agency, leaving the door open to still continue a partnership.

Aldridge is considering the possibility of taking a visit or two in free agency, sources told Yahoo. No decision is considered imminent.
