Houston Rockets starting guard Patrick Beverley suffered a torn ligament in his left wrist, and further evaluation in seven to 10 days will determine if season-ending surgery could be necessary, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Beverley met with doctors on Wednesday in Houston, where it was determined that more time was needed to evaluate the extent of the injury and the potential for further damage if he continues to play with it this season.

Beverley, who was injured in Monday night's win against Indiana, is an important part of the Rockets’ push for a Western Conference championship. He will be an unrestricted free agent this summer and is expected to command a significant deal – either in Houston or elsewhere.

Beverley, in his third year with the Rockets, is averging 10.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 56 games this season.
