The Memphis Grizzlies agreed to a deal to acquire Orlando Magic guard Luke Ridnour, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The Grizzlies will send the Magic the rights to 2013 second-round pick Janis Timma, a 6-foot-7 Latvian swingman. Timma is 22 and plays in Europe.

Ridnour gives the Grizzlies a solid backup guard who could be used again as a trading chip with the NBA draft and free agency approaching.

Ridnour's $2.75 million contract for the 2015-16 season is not guaranteed if he's waived before July 10.

Ridnour, 34, played 47 games for the Magic, averaging four points and two assists.

In 11 NBA seasons, Ridnour has averaged nine points and four assists a game.
