Source: Murphy agrees to sign with Lakers

Troy Murphy has agreed to a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, a league source told Yahoo! Sports.

Murphy joins Josh McRoberts as another versatile free agent forward to help partially negate the loss of Lamar Odom, who the Lakers traded to the Dallas Mavericks.

Murphy, 31, finished his 10th season in the NBA on the Boston Celtics bench last season.

The Lakers will be Murphy's fifth team of his career. Murphy, a 6-foot-11 forward with 3-point range, averaged 14.5 points and nearly 11 rebounds for the Pacers in 2008-'08 and 2009-'10. With the Nets and Celtics a season ago, Murphy played sparingly in 35 games.
