Source: Deone Bucannon visiting Colts today, Patriots, Vikings up next

Washington State All-American safety Deone Bucannon visited the Indianapolis Colts the past two days and starts his two-day visit with the New England Patriots today, according to a league source.

Bucannon visits the Philadelphia Eagles on Apri 22 and April 23 followed by the New York Jets on April 23 and April 24 and the New York Giants on April 24 and April 25.

Bucannon has previously visited the Baltimore Ravens.

Bucannon ran the 40-yard dash in 4.49 seconds at the NFL scouting combine, bench pressed 225 pounds 19 times and had a 10-6 broad jump and 36.5-inch vertical leap.

Bucannon has a reputation as a hard-hitting tackler and is regarded as a rising draft prospect. He has over 10 official visits scheduled and has conducted three private workouts, including with the Philadelphia Eagles.

The 6-foot-1, 211-pounder delivered a huge hit in this video against Auburn running back Corey Grant and has also displayed coverage skills.

Bucannon trained for months before the NFL scouting combine at Disney Wide World of Sports with noted speed trainer Tom Shaw as well as retired former Ravens starting cornerback Fabian Washington.

Bucannon was a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award last season and a second-team All-Pac-12 selection.

He led the Pac-12 with 109 tackles last season, intercepted five passes and forced three fumbles. He was a four-year starter and a three-time captain.

For his career, Bucannon has 379 tackles and 14 interceptions.
