Source: Browns agree to two-year extension with RB Kareem Hunt

The Cleveland Browns took care of one of their key running game components Tuesday, agreeing with Kareem Hunt to a two-year extension worth $13.2 million, a source told Yahoo Sports.

Hunt, 25, served in a backup role behind starter Nick Chubb in Cleveland following a turbulent start in the league in which he rushed for 1,327 yards and eight touchdowns as a rookie in 2017 but was subsequently released the following November after a video of him pushing and kicking a woman went public.

Hunt later signed with the Browns in February 2019, and went on to rush 43 times for 179 yards and two touchdowns in eight games after serving an eight-game suspension to start the season.

ESPN reported the news of Hunt’s extension first.
