In preparation for the team’s attempt to win its second title in three seasons, SKA released a hype video on Wednesday ahead of Game 1, and boy, is there a lot going on.
That video had everything, from Ilya Kovalchuk and Pavel Datsyuk, to our very happy friend above, to an ode to their military history, to this guy, who’s probably been watching that Colorado Avalanche/Imagine Dragons mash-up from 2014 a few too many times:
There was also the hockey glove-wearing rocker who has no need for a pick:
Sometimes when you need to relax after a game you pick up your drum sticks and smash the hell out of your 16 cymbals:
What signals an intimidating presence to opponents more than bullets hitting the floor?
Finally, we go to an August clip of Datsyuk firing off a cannon during a ceremony.
This one was certainly ranks on par with last year’s promo, which featured lots of things on fire, like drum sticks, boxing gloves, cymbals and their mascot (for real), as well as sledgehammers, MMA fighting and a dude giving the camera the finger. Really.
We’re already eagerly awaiting next season’s video.
