It might take the average NHL player a few games to get back into form after missing time with an injury, but as everyone already knows, Pittsburgh Penguins forward Sidney Crosby is not average.

The Penguins captain has been out since he suffered an injury on Nov. 9 and underwent surgery to repair a sports hernia.

With all that behind him, he returned Tuesday against the Minnesota Wild and quickly asserted himself back among the league’s elite with a four-point performance.

His goal in addition to the three assists, including this great effort, was simply jaw-dropping.

A gif that’s worthy of being in the Louvre.

Crosby had a point on four of the seven goals the Penguins scored to post a 7-3 victory over the Wild. This win earns them a 29-12-5 record and more standings security through the second half of the season.

The Penguins went 18-6-4 while Crosby was out with his injury and appear to be on the same track with the addition of their top centre.

Through 18 games, the Cole Harbour native has scored six goals and 21 points.
