Sheffield United vs Tottenham, Premier League preview: Prediction, start time, team news, TV, live stream, h2h, odds

Tottenham head to Sheffield United go head to head tonight in a result which could end one teams' hopes of Champions League football.

While Liverpool have already won the Premier League title, the race for European qualification is very much alive - especially after Chelsea slipped up at West ham on Wednesday.

Spurs can close the gap on fifth-placed Manchester United to four points with a win, but anything less would leave Champions League football unlikely next season - and the same goes for Chris Wilder's Blades, who sit a points behind Jose Mourinho's men.

Sheffield United vs Tottenham is scheduled for a 6pm BST kick-off on Thursday, July 1, 2020.

The match will be behind closed doors at Bramall Lane with no fans due to be present due to government guidelines regarding coronavirus.

Team news

John Lundstram could miss out after an arm injury forced him off in the FA Cup defeat to Arsenal on Sunday. The 26-year-old was set to undergo a scan.

Blades boss Chris Wilder said at his pre-match press conference that Jack O'Connell was "back on the grass" following the impact injury in training that has ruled him out since the restart and the defender will be assessed.

Tottenham have no new injury concerns to contend with. Defenders Juan Foyth (knee) and Japhet Tanganga (back) are the only two absentees for the game at Bramall Lane.

Mourinho has an embarrassment of attacking riches and could rotate his squad.

Provisional Sheffield United squad: Henderson, Moore, Verrips, O'Connell, Robinson, Basham, Egan, Baldock, Lundstram, Stevens, Berge, Fleck, Norwood, McBurnie, Sharp, Freeman, Mousset, Clarke, Zivkovic, McGoldrick, Jagielka, Rodwell, Osborn.

Provisional Tottenham squad: Lloris, Vorm, Gazzaniga, Aurier, Sanchez, Dier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies, Sessegnon, Winks, Lo Celso, Ndombele, Sissoko, Fernandes, Skipp, Alli, Moura, Lamela, Son, Kane, Bergwijn.

Prediction: Sheffield United 1-2 Tottenham

The Blades have been completely out of sorts since the restart, losing two League games and going out of the FA Cup to Arsenal.

Spurs will fancy their chances of three points here, but it may be a difficult ask if the hosts can find their pre-lockdown form.

Head to head (h2h) history and results

In seven Premier League meetings, the two sides have won two games apiece and drawn three.

The previous meeting this season ended 1-1 in north London in what proved to be Mauricio Pochettino's final game as Spurs boss.
