The Royal Wedding is not in any way a sports story. But Prince Harry’s marriage to American actress Meghan Markle basically took over the entire internet on Saturday. And several star athletes, or former star athletes, were honorable enough to get on the guest list.

One of them was former English soccer player David Beckham, who attended along with his wife Victoria. And he provided one of the highlights of the whole extravaganza by giving famous musician Elton John – who himself has sports connections as the former owner and chairman of English Premier League club Watford – a lip-to-lip kiss.

And, uh, let’s just say John appeared to really enjoy the kiss …

Serena Williams and husband Alexis Ohanian were also in attendance. Williams posted a picture of the two and their baby to Instagram on Saturday morning before they made their way to Windsor Castle:

Seeing us off. Flying baby style! @olympiaohanian

Multiple British rugby stars were also on the guest list.

Among the other very tangential sports connections: Prince Harry looks like Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz.

Oh, and Prince William, the best man at his brother’s wedding, is the president of England’s Football Association. That’s why he might have to sneak out of the wedding early to attend the FA Cup final between Manchester United and Chelsea, which kicks off at Wembley Stadium at 5:15 local time.
