Selby and O'Sullivan meet for place in Northern Ireland Open final

Mark Selby will face five-time world champion Ronnie O’Sullivan for a place in the Northern Ireland Open final.

The two snooker powerhouses both eased their way to the last four and know just one game stands in their way of a place in the final.

Selby overcame Thepchaiya Un-Nooh 5-3, despite not playing his best snooker in Belfast.

While O’Sullivan turned on the style once again, overcoming David Gilbert 5-2 to set up the showdown in the Waterfront Hall.

The winner will face either Eden Sharav or Judd Trump, with the two meeting in the second of Saturday’s semi-finals.

It’s been nearly two years since O’Sullivan and Selby last met, with the Jester from Leicester overcoming the Rocket 10-7 in the 2016 UK Championship final.
