Seahawks exec Scot McCloughan resigns

Seattle Seahawks senior personnel executive Scot McCloughan has resigned to attend to a family issue, according to CBS Sports.

McCloughan was hired by the Seahawks in 2010.

He was previously the San Francisco 49ers general manager when they drafted Frank Gore, Vernon Davis, Patrick Willis and Michael Crabtree.

With the Seahawks, he helped them draft quarterback Russell Wilson and cornerback Richard Sherman.

However, McCloughan dealt with issues with the 49ers, including a divorce, and wound up leaving the NFC West club to deal with personal issues.

According to CBS, McCloughan plans to work from home and organize his own independent scouting service.
