Sceptres Place Carter, Spooner On LTIR

To open the second day of Toronto Sceptres' training camp, the PWHL team has placed a pair of players on long-term injured reserve.

Rookie defender Megan Carter was the most recent addition to LTIR. After captaining Northeastern last season and attending Canada's national team camp this summer, the Milton, Ontario product has been placed on LTIR with a lower-body injury. According to the Sceptres "there is no timeline for her return."

Carter was Toronto's second round pick, 12th overall at the 2024 PWHL Draft.

Also placed on LTIR is reigning PWHL MVP and Forward of the Year Natalie Spooner. Spooner was first placed on LTIR after suffering a torn ACL during game three of the PWHL semi-finals against Minnesota last season. The team also states there is no current timeline for Spooner's return to the ice.
