Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, Calls Her New Grandson "Amazing"

Yesterday, Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, announced that they have welcomed the newest member of their family—their second child, a son named Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank. Today, Eugenie's mother, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, reacted with a sweet message about the news.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Ferguson reshared Eugenie's announcement, which included an adorable photo of baby Ernest in a precious hand-me-down blue knit cap from his big brother, August. She added her own message along with the photo, writing, "Amazing.. the importance of Ernest." Fergie also wrote, "Thank you soooo much.. clever Eugenie and Jack and August Brooksbank…" along with a praying hands emoji.

Ernest is Ferguson's third grandchild, following Eugenie's son, August, and Princess Beatrice's daughter, Sienna. However, while many in his family have names that give a nod to their royal heritage, Ernest also has a special connection to Ferguson's side of the family in his name—his second middle name, Ronnie, is a nod to Ferguson's father, Ronald Ferguson.

"Jack and I wanted to share the news that we had our little boy, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank on 30th May 2023 at 8.49 weighing 7.1lbs," Eugenie wrote in her Instagram on June 5. "He is named after his great great great Grandfather George, his Grandpa George and my Grandpa Ronald," she explained, revealing the connection to her ancestor Britain's King George V as well as the nod to Jack Brooksbank's father, George.
