Saints show respect to Dez Bryant by throwing up the X after touchdowns

Dez Bryant was only with the New Orleans Saints for two practices, but there was a respect for the receiver that has lasted.

After Bryant tore his Achilles in practice on Friday, ending his season, receiver Michael Thomas made a promise regarding Bryant’s famous touchdown celebration, when he throws up the X.

The funny thing was Thomas seemed to forget to throw up the X after his first touchdown. But Mark Ingram gave a shout out to his new teammate and longtime Dallas Cowboys star, as did Alvin Kamara a little bit later.

Ingram took a pass down the near sideline, made some moves to get into the end zone, then crossed his arms in front of him in the familiar X for Bryant. Kamara did the same after his short touchdown run later in the second quarter.

Bryant noticed his new teammates showing him love.

On Saturday, Oklahoma State’s Tyron Johnson also threw up the X after a touchdown. Bryant played his college ball for OSU.

While Bryant won’t play in the NFL this season, it’s clear there’s still a lot of respect for him.
