Ryan Murray: Suffers Shoulder Injury

Update: Murray suffered a shoulder injury Friday while playing with the WHL's Everett Silvertips, the Columbus Post-Dispatch reports.

Recommendation: Though Murray won't receive an MRI until early next week, the Blue Jackets fear Murray dislocated the shoulder. "It's not good news," GM Scott Howson said. "Right now his arm is in a sling, held tight to his body, and he's in a lot of pain." Murray, 19, was believed to have a chance to open the season with the NHL club if not for the lockout, but even if a labor agreement is reached, any possible debut with the Blue Jackets will likely be delayed as a result of the injury.
