Rougned Odor asked for an unusual gift before signing extension
Young players don’t normally respond to contract extensions with “no,” but it’s even more rare for them to reply with “neigh.” Rougned Odor didn’t want to decline the Texas Rangers’ six-year, $49.5 million offer, but he asked the team to sweeten the deal before he signed.

On top of the money, Odor wanted two new four-legged friends.
As part of Odor’s deal, the 2B, who raises horses in spare time, will get two elite horses. Nice touch horse ????

Odor signed the deal, and the Rangers delivered on their promise.
These are in fact the horses that sealed the Odor deal. This is not a joke pic.twitter.com/O0Ka03RXRb

We have to applaud Odor here, because what he did was not only unusual, but it flies in the face of conventional wisdom.
The common phrase “don’t look a gift horse in the mouth” advises people to be grateful for what they receive. Odor not only did the compete opposite, but he literally asked for two “gift horses” as compensation. That’s an ironic power move we can get behind.
