Ronda Rousey and Cat Zingano UFC 184 Random Drug Test Results Are In

The California State Athletic Commission has UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and challenger Cat Zingano drug tested in a random out-of-competition screen for performance-enhancing drugs. The two are scheduled to battle for Rousey's belt in the UFC 184 main event on Feb. 28 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The results of the tests for each came back clean, CSAC executive director Andy Foster told MMAWeekly.com on Thursday.

Zingano provided a urine sample on Feb. 10; Rousey on Feb. 11. Their samples were both tested for a battery of performance-enhancing drugs, per World Anti-Doping Agency standards, by Quest Diagnostics in Los Angeles.

The CSAC had the tests expedited to make sure the results came back well ahead of fight time should any issues arise.

Rousey vs. Zingano took over the UFC 184 headlining slot after the original headlining bout was nixed. UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman had to withdraw from his title defense against Vitor Belfort due to injury. Belfort subsequently rejected the UFC's offer of an interim title bout to remain on the card.

Weidman and Belfort are now slated to be the co-main event of the UFC 187 on May 23 in Las Vegas. That card will be headlined by a light heavyweight title bout between champion Jon Jones and challenger Anthony Johnson.
