Rodgers on transfer window, Dundee & 'not having the hump'

Brendan Rodgers has been addressing the media before Celtic host Dundee in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday night.

Here are the key things he said:

  • On the January transfer window, Rodgers said the club "done some really good business" but conceded "one or two things didn't quite drop" and so "the squad is lighter".

  • Rodgers reiterated he "wanted" to bring in a forward replacement for Kyogo, but stressed it's "never as plain and simple as people think".

  • The manager admitted "we could've done better" but added: "I'm not going to become frustrated now and kill my joy of working here every day by thinking, 'what could have been'."

  • He confirmed a deal to bring Kieran Tierney in in January "wasn't close".

  • Rodgers stressed "he can't have the hump" if he wants to continue being the manager who "inspires and motivates".

  • He is hopeful the "physical and pacey" Jeffrey Schlupp will be involved against Dundee.

  • The manager said the 3-3 game against Dundee last month "was easy to analyse" and assured his side "won't be so soft in defence".
