In his first appearance back at the Rogers Centre, the welcome former Blue Jays’ closer Roberto Osuna received was anything but warm.

After being arrested for domestic assault on May 8th, the relief man never suited up in Toronto again and was traded to the Astros prior to the end of his 75-game suspension.

On Monday night, Osuna was called upon to protect a two-run Houston lead in the bottom of the ninth and as he jogged to the mound, Blue Jays fans made it clear how they felt about their former star.

Despite the fervent booing, Osuna pitched a scoreless, one-hit inning en route to earning his 19th save of the season.

The 23-year old’s case will continue on September 25th in Toronto but although the date coincides with the Astros’ trip north, it’s still unknown whether the pitcher will appear in court or not.

If there is no resolution in court on Tuesday, the next step in the process is a trial date. Osuna’s lawyer has already stated that they will continue to plead not guilty.
