CHICAGO — What’s a Cleveland Indians appearance in the World Series without an appearance from Ricky “Wild Thing” Vaughn? While MLB put the kibosh on Charlie Sheen throwing out the first pitch at Progressive Field, at least one fan made a relief appearance Friday night at Wrigley Field.

Brian Green, a 30-year-old originally from the Cleveland area but now a resident of Chicago, could be spotted walking outside of the bleacher gates at Sheffield and Waveland about an hour before first pitch. His uniform was authentic down to the skull-and-bones glasses. (We’ll give him a pass for wearing an Indians cap with a World Series patch on the side.)

Green said he had tickets to the game and planned on sitting in the right field bleachers. He also went to Game 1 in Cleveland with his father but didn’t don the costume for the contest.

“This sort of thing is much less unique in Cleveland,” Green said. “I saw at least 10 of them there.”

Though he has lived in Chicago for eight years, Green said he hadn’t been swayed to become a Cubs fan.

“I’m an Indians fan through and through,” he said.
