Tottenham’s potential move for Son Heung-Min’s international teammate Kim Min-Jae remains ‘possible rather than probable’, according to one reporter.

The giant South Korean defender has been strongly linked with a switch to north London over the past 12 months, with Antonio Conte making a move to sign a new centre-back one of his priorities this summer.

The likes of Alessandro Bastoni, Gleison Bremer, Clement Lenglet and Josko Gvardiol have all been linked with a move to north London, while Kim sits on the fringes of that list.

And according to The Sun‘s chief sports writer Martin Lipton, Spurs are more likely to move for other targets first.

Speaking on Tottenham Fan Chris Cowlin’s YouTube channel, Lipton said: “They’ve looked at a lot. There’s a certain grade of centre-half they’re looking at. The Korean boy is slightly below the top level of that list at the moment.

“He’s on the list, but he’s not necessarily at the top of it, he’s a possible rather than probable.”

At this stage, it appears Tottenham are clearly not prioritising a move for the 25-year-old. However, Kim could still be a player they turn to if they fail to land one of their top targets.

Kim move represents a gamble

But while Kim has excelled on international duty and in Turkey with Fenerbahce, he has not played in a top European league and that represents more of a gamble.

That being said, Son knows the player well and will certainly give feedback on Kim’s qualities.

It just now remains to be seen who Tottenham can snap up during the final months of the summer window.

As for Son himself, Real Madrid are said to have renewed their interest in the forward.

The Spanish giants were hugely impressed with Son’s performances last season as he shared the Golden Boot. However, it would take a mega bid for Daniel Levy to even consider a transfer.
