Oklahoma starting cornerback Jordan Thomas will reportedly be available for the Sooners’ season opener.

Thomas was facing several charges stemming from a June 30 arrest for public intoxication. However, according to SoonerScoop.com, Thomas will not be charged. SoonerScoop reported Thursday night that both the junior cornerback and OU program were informed of the news earlier Thursday.

Additionally, the website reported, Thomas will be disciplined “internally” and will be available when the Sooners face Houston on Sept. 3 at NRG Stadium.

In addition to public intoxication, Thomas was accused of assault and battery and interference with official process. It wasn’t Thomas’ first run-in with authorities during his time with the Sooners. In December, Thomas spent a night in jail after failing to appear in court for a traffic citation. Thomas’ license was suspended after being pulled over driving 94 miles per hour in a 75 mph zone. A warrant was issued for his arrest after he did not appear in court for the violation.

Thomas was suspended for the Tulsa game and was also held out by the coaching staff for the first quarter of last season’s opener against Akron. Thomas totaled 46 tackles and five interceptions last year. He also was a significant contributor in 2014, registering 32 tackles and five pass breakups.
