Florida Atlantic fires Charlie Partridge after another 3-9 season
Florida Atlantic has fired coach Charlie Partridge.
Partridge, who finished 3-9 in each of his three seasons with the program, struggled to bring the Owls back to the relevance they saw under coach Howard Schnellenberger. The Owls season ended the season with a 77-56 loss to Middle Tennessee.
“I want to thank Charlie Partridge for putting his heart and soul into Florida Atlantic University for the past three years,” said FAU athletic director Pat Chun. “He led our program with integrity and character. Most importantly, he impacted the lives of our student-athletes and that will have a lasting effect.”
Partridge was an assistant on Bret Bielema’s staffs at Arkansas and Wisconsin before taking the FAU job.
According to Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman, Ohio State defensive coordinator Luke Fickell should be among the candidates for the job.
