Report: Capitals' Tom Wilson has mega suspension trimmed to 14 games

Hey, that’s Tom Wilson’s music.

An arbitrator has reportedly ruled that Wilson’s 20-game suspension will be reduced to 14 games, meaning that he’s now free and clear to once again slot into the Washington Capitals lineup, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.

Now 16 games into the season, nothing can be done to account for the extra two games lost as a part of the initial suspension for landing a devastating blindside hit on St. Louis’s Oskar Sundqvist, but Wilson will be compensated for the difference and recoup over $378,000 in lost wages, reports Sportsnet’s Chris Johnston.

As a reminder, this is the act that earned Wilson the heavy, heavy suspension back on Sept. 30.

As of now there is no timeline on a return for Wilson, but you would think there’s a strong chance that he’s in the lineup Tuesday versus the Minnesota Wild.
