Chelsea will secure their place in the Champions League knockout stages with a win over Rennes tonight.

A 3-0 victory over the same opponents in their previous European bout has the Blues in a strong position, with Frank Lampard keen to confirm progression and rest some players.

He told reporters: "We still want to win the group. I am confident in the squad, even if we rotate."

Date, time and venue

Rennes vs Chelsea is scheduled for a 5.55pm GMT kick-off today (Tuesday, November 24, 2020).

The match will be held behind closed doors at Stade de la Route de Lorient.

Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic misses out, but should be fit to face Tottenham on Sunday.

The USA international has been sidelined for a month with a hamstring injury and will not travel to Rennes for tonight’s Champions League fixture.

Lampard said: "Pulisic is staying back, he doesn't travel, but he's had a good progression and will hopefully be fit for selection at the weekend and onwards."

Kai Havertz and Thiago Silva, who sat out the weekend win at Newcastle, both return to the squad.

Prediction: Rennes 0-2 Chelsea

The Ligue 1 side offered little at Stamford Bridge and we expect the same today.
