Reminder: Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson are very good at shooting

According to Anthony Slater of the Bay Area News Group, one of the big early developments of Golden State Warriors training camp has been the growth of a post-practice workout partnership between U.S. gold-medal teammates Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson. You’re not going to believe this, but those workout sessions don’t appear to include very many missed shots:

Yes, yes, we know: it’s only practice, and most every NBA player can splash Js when nobody’s guarding him, and making 18 straight 3-pointers isn’t all that impressive in the grand scheme, and so on. All that’s true! And yet, you watch those shots, off the dribble or the catch, barely disturb nylon, and you remember that this streak is less than one-fourth as long as the one the Warriors’ other best shooter put together that one time

… and that Stephen Curry, as he sets about authoring an encore to one of the most miraculous regular seasons anybody’s ever seen, is working not only on improving, but on converting insanity like this:

… and you’re reminded of the staggering on-court potential of this team’s offense.

“I shot a lot today,” Durant said after Thursday’s practice, “and Draymond told me I wasn’t aggressive enough. So that’s great for me. He’s basically telling me to shoot more.”

Sounds cool to me. If it looks this good in practice, I can’t wait to see how it works out in the game.
