Reggie Bush to honor fellow USC running back Joe McKnight with special cleats

While many NFL players have paid tribute to Joe McKnight on social media, the most vocal has probably been Buffalo Bills running back Reggie Bush.

McKnight, who was shot and killed in New Orleans on Thursday afternoon, and Bush are both former USC running backs who went on to play in the NFL. Although the college careers of the two didn’t overlap, there was a clear kinship between the two.

This week the NFL is allowing players to wear special cleats if they wish, as part of a “My Cause, My Cleats” initiative. Bush said on Twitter he will use that platform to pay tribute to McKnight.

There will be many good causes represented on Sunday and Monday on the cleats of many NFL players. Bush’s tribute to McKnight will be among the most heartfelt.
