It didn’t take long for former LSU running backs coach Jabbar Juluke to find a new place of employment. And it’s at a briefly familiar place.

Less than a week after LSU said Juluke had been reassigned to a different role within the athletic department, Texas Tech announced his hire as the team’s running backs coach and associate head coach.

Juluke was Tech’s running backs coach for a few weeks in 2016 before he left for LSU. Tech hired him away from Louisiana Tech in January, 2016, though Juluke left in February for LSU.

“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Juluke and his family back to Lubbock,” Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury said in a statement. “Coach Juluke has worked with several tremendous running backs over his career and his knowledge of that position will greatly benefit our offense. His experience on the recruiting trail is also very valuable, and I know he will have a significant impact in all phases of our program.”

LSU announced Juluke’s reassignment and the firing of wide receivers coach Dameyune Craig in a brief statement last week. And, according to a report, there are numerous high school coaches in New Orleans who are unhappy with the Tigers’ decision to find a new running backs coach.

Per SEC Country, prominent head coaches from the city are scheduled to meet Thursday to discuss “several marquee issues,” including LSU’s recent personnel moves.

Orgeron has become aware of the closed-door meeting later this week and has been in contact several of the head coaches that are expected to be in attendance, a source said. Orgeron has tried to stop the meeting and told some coaches he will devise a plan to try and correct the situation.

The meeting remains scheduled, and it is expected that the head coaches will move to boycott LSU moving forward.

A boycott, if it comes to fruition, would of course hurt LSU’s recruiting efforts significantly. New Orleans has produced a lot of stars for the school including former Tiger running back Leonard Fournette.

Per the Advocate, LSU will hire USC running backs coach Tommie Robinson and Louisiana Tech running backs coach Mickey Joseph to replace Craig and Juluke.
