One of the stars of this summer’s Women’s World Cup is now a star for Real Madrid.

Kosovare Asllani announced on Twitter she’ll be the first signing for the Spanish giants, who are set to make their Primera División debut in 2019-20.

Real Madrid purchased the top-flight place of local side CD Tacón in June, and will integrate its side with theirs before the merger becomes official on July 1 of next year.

Asllani also posted a welcome video on her Instagram page, and uploaded a signing picture to her story:

Asllani is a creative attacker who helped Sweden finish third at the 2019 Women’s World Cup. She scored twice in the group stage and then scored her side’s opener in the third-place match against England, despite having been stretchered off at the end of the semifinal against the Netherlands with an apparent neck injury.

She’s also won the English Women’s Super League in 2016 with Manchester City, and the 29-year-old instantly brings experience and ability to Real Madrid. Asllani most recently played for Linköpings FC in Sweden.
