Good morning. Before we begin, a warning: If you’ve ever sweated out any type of bet, the following two stories may make you angry.

Man wins $1.275M on Tiger’s Masters victory

Meet James Adducci (pictured above) A day trader from western Wisconsin, Adducci took $85K from a failed investment and decided he was going to place it all on Tiger Woods to win the Masters. Why $85K? He wasn’t sure. ”I didn’t know, really, that this was a lot to bet on golf,” he told the AP on Monday.

It took a little bit to find a sports book willing to take that kind of action, but he finally did. And after getting 14-1 odds, he went back home and watched Tiger make history — while boosting his bank account in a big way. “I’m a responsible guy,” said the guy who wagered $85K on one golfer after being asked about his plans for the money.

Man wins $1M on bracket contest without knowing it

Meet Mark Watts. The 60-year-old air force veteran won Yahoo Sports’ Best Bracket Millionaire Contest after Virginia outlasted Texas Tech last Monday night. But get this: He didn’t know it until we emailed him! Adding even more humor to the scenario is the fact that Watts placed a $50 bet with his friend that Texas Tech would win. Hey, nothing beats a good hedge.

Given the up and down nature of that game, Watts probably saved the few years that would’ve been shaved off his life had he watched. And hey, he gets to enjoy that million bucks all the same.

Sounds like most of us have been doing it wrong all along.

NBA: Warriors suffer huge collapse, Boogie out

Boogie Cousins, the Warriors’ big man, left Monday’s Game 2 against the Clippers after suffering a non-contact quad injury. It’s unclear what the prognosis could be, but Warriors fans will obviously be hoping for the best. That’s a team that does not want further depth issues as it heads into another long playoff run. Plus, the fact that the Warriors went on to blow a 31-point lead — the biggest collapse in NBA playoff history — has to be at least a little concerning for the Warriors juggernaut.

NFL: Breaking: Russell Wilson, Seattle agree to deal

While you were sleeping, Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks were dealing. With one phrase — “Seattle, we got a deal” — Wilson declared his intent to stay with the Seahawks on a four-year, $140 million extension that includes $107 million in guaranteed money. Wilson is now the highest-paid player in the NFL, edging out Aaron Rodgers.

NBA: Zion Williamson officially declares for the draft

No, it didn’t come as a surprise to anyone. But it still had to be done. The real news comes on May 14, when we learn which lucky team wins the NBA draft lottery and the rights to draft the Duke star.
