Ravens agree to terms with tight end Owen Daniels

The Ravens have continued to upgrade their offense.

On Thursday, Baltimore announced it agreed to a one-year contract with former Texans tight end Owen Daniels. He will travel to the team's facility Wednesday to take a physical. Upon passing, he'll sign his contract.

This move reunites Daniels with former Houston head coach Gary Kubiak, now the Ravens' offensive coordinator, and tight ends coach Brian Pariani.

Daniels had plenty of success with the Texans during his eight-year tenure. He caught 385 passes for 4,617 yards and 29 touchdowns. His best season yardage wise came in 2008 when he caught a career-best 70 receptions for 862 yards.

His career-high in touchdowns came 2012, when he reached the end zone six times.

Daniels will team up with Dennis Pitta, giving the Ravens a tough tandem to match up with in Kubiak's offense. Kubiak uses two-tight end sets often as a way to create mismatches over the middle of the field.

Daniels played college ball at Wisconsin and was selected in the fourth round (98th overall) of the 2006 NFL draft.
