Raptors select center Dewan Hernandez with No. 59 pick overall

The Toronto Raptors selected center Dewan Hernandez from the University of Miami with the 59th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

It was Toronto’s lone selection after trading its 2019 first-round pick in the deal that brought Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green over from the San Antonio Spurs last July.

Hernandez did not play at Miami last year due to eligibility issues. He averaged 11.4 points and 6.7 rebounds per game during the 2017-18 season.

The 22-year-old was named a McDonald’s All-American selection in 2016.
