Raptors' Jurassic Park ready to move inside if needed

By now, nearly the entire sports world is aware of Toronto’s Jurassic Park, the throng of rabid Toronto Raptors fans that stand shoulder-to-shoulder outside of Scotiabank Arena to watch the games together. With every step the team takes towards a championship in the NBA Playoffs, the greater the park grows in size.

With the Raptors one win away from taking home the title, ownership is making sure fans will be able to experience the thrills as a loud and proud group, no matter the weather.

Thursday has been mostly rainy and miserable in downtown Toronto, and if weather becomes extreme enough that the street party isn’t safe, fans will be welcomed inside the arena doors to watch the game.

Forecasts throughout the evening call for rain with a chance of thunderstorms throughout. The decision will come at 5pm to open the doors of Scotiabank Arena or go forward with the usual Jurassic Park outdoor setup.

The Raptors are on the road in Oakland on their quest to bring home the first championship in franchise history. The Golden State Warriors have their backs against the wall in the must-win, and are doing so in the last game in Oracle Arena before moving to a new building next season.

It might be a fun bit of coincidence that as one building closes in California, Toronto opens the doors of theirs to host one heck of a party.
