Raptors grind out crucial double-OT win over Bucks in Game 3

Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals wasn’t technically a must-win game for the Toronto Raptors, but a loss would’ve essentially turned the lights out on a spectacular season.

After failing to close out the Milwaukee Bucks in regulation and once again in the extra period, the Raptors finally scraped out a 118-112 double-overtime victory Sunday behind Kawhi Leonard’s heroics.

Toronto now trails the series 2-1.

Leonard finished with 36 points and nine rebounds, including a pair of clutch dunks in the double-OT frame. Pascal Siakam added a double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds, but missed a pair of free throws late in the fourth quarter that would’ve sealed the win.

Kyle Lowry fouled out midway through the fourth quarter, forcing the struggling Fred VanVleet into extended minutes. VanVleet went 1-of-11 from the field, but his one made basket was a clutch three-pointer down the stretch.

The Raptors did a fantastic job containing MVP finalist Giannis Antetokounmpo, limiting him to 12 points on 5-of-16 shooting before he fouled out 30 seconds into double overtime. Antetokounmpo also committed eight turnovers on the evening. Despite the off night, he was a terror on the glass, grabbing a whopping 23 rebounds.

Game 4 goes Tuesday night at Scotiabank Arena as the Raptors look to even things up.
