The Rangers Have Reportedly Made Brady Tkachuk Their Primary Trade Target
The New York Rangers are looking to acquire a big fish.
According to Larry Brooks of The New York Post, the Rangers have made Ottawa Senators forward Brady Tkachuk their primary target.
This comes after Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman came out and said the Rangers have been talking with the Ottawa Senators regarding a trade.

“I think Ottawa is among one of the teams that have talked to the Rangers about something there, but I think there is a lot more to,” Friedman said.
The Rangers are on the verge of either trading or waiving Jacob Trouba and ESPN’s Emily Kaplan reported that the Senators have talked to the Rangers about a possible Trouba deal.
Among the teams I’ve heard have talked to the NYR about Jacob Trouba include Detroit, Ottawa, Buffalo, Columbus.
We’ll see what happens today, but Trouba has known for some time this was a strong possibility. Crazy to see it go down this way.— Emily Kaplan (@emilymkaplan) December 6, 2024
It’s unclear if these discussions included Tkachuk or not, but it would likely take a lot of assets to draw Tkachuk away from Ottawa.
This season, the 25-year-old forward has recorded 13 goals, 16 assists and 29 points in 25 games while averaging 18:19 minutes.
