Rangers Claim Arthur Kaliyev Off Waivers Following Rocky Tenure With Kings

The New York Rangers have claimed forward Arthur Kaliyev off waivers. This comes after the Los Angeles Kings placed Kaliyev on waivers yesterday.

Kaliyev was selected by the Kings in the second round of the 2019 NHL Draft.

Despite showing promise through his first two seasons in the NHL, Kaliyev struggled during the 2023-24 campaign and was often placed as a healthy scratch.

The 23-year-old signed a one-year, $825,000 deal with the Kings in September, but he has not played in a single game this season after suffering a fractured clavicle during training camp.

In 188 total NHL games, Kaliyev has recorded 35 goals, 36 assists and 71 points while averaging 12:08 minutes.

He is set to become a restricted free agent at the end of the 2024-25 season.
