UFC flyweight Rachael Ostovich is back on Jan. 19’s UFC Fight Night card after being hospitalized from a domestic violence attack, ESPN reports.

Ostovich suffered broken bone in face

Ostovich’s manager, Brian Butler-Au confirmed with ESPN last week that she suffered a broken orbital bone in an attack after TMZ reported that she was the victim of a domestic violence incident in Honolulu.

The Honolulu police department confirmed with TMZ on Nov. 18 that a domestic violence incident had been opened. Her husband Arnold Berdon, a professional MMA fighter, was later arrested as a suspect in the attack.

At the time, Ostovich’s management said the fight was off.

Ostovich reportedly sought second opinion

Butler-Au told ESPN that Ostovich never intended to pull out of the fight and made the decision to continue after seeking a second medical opinion on her injuries.

“Now that things are settling out and the swelling of the injury is going down, Rachael got a second opinion and everything will work out to where she can keep this fight,” Butler-Au said.

UFC president Dana White also confirmed the fight with ESPN.

Ostovich responded on Twitter Tuesday shortly after the news broke.

VanZant celebrated the news with her own Twitter message.

Ostovich was a contestant on “The Ultimate Fighter 26” in 2017 and was brought back for the live finale of that season despite losing earlier in the competition. She also fought in the finale of “The Ultimate Fighter 27” in July, suffering a submission loss. Ostovich is 4-4 in MMA and 1-1 in UFC.

Her fight with VanZant will take place at Brooklyn’s Barclay’s center and air on ESPN+.
