It’s going to be a busy year for the UK, as multiple royal celebrations are set to take place over the course of 2022, including the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and Prince William's 40th birthday. We also saw William's wife, Kate Middleton, celebrate turning 40 earlier this year – which was marked with the release of some stunning, regal portraits.

And while we know there are plans already set in place for Her Majesty's 70th year as Queen, (we get the day off... yay!) we can't help but wonder what's in store for her grandson, and the second in line to the throne.

Prince William's birthday is on the 21st June, which this year falls on a Tuesday. And according to a royal expert, we can expect to see a joint celebration. Exciting!

It comes as Christopher Andersen, the author of The Brothers and Wives: Inside the Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan also shared some news on the big event, telling Us Weekly that: 'The Queen has a big thing planned for [William] and he is going to throw something as well.' He also mentioned the *C-word* that, as usual, is always on everybody's mind, saying: 'There will be big parties again, if Covid allows anything like that to happen.'

When the Duchess of Cambridge celebrated the big 4-0 back in January, Prince William and their children apparently helped to throw her a ‘low-key’ party – it's said that William, Princess Charlotte, and Princes George and Louis had to pick their favourite photos of Kate to be released as part of a special gift. So. Cute.

We wonder if the same kind of heart-felt, personal tribute will be made for the Prince? If so, we can’t wait to see.

And while the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge won’t be short of help from the best in the business, it’s no secret that they’ve also got Kate’s mum, Carole Middleton, the expert party planner who will be sure to pull out all the stops to make sure her son-in-law has a 40th birthday to remember.
