Quebec senior leaguer suspended after vicious slash to opponent's head (Video)
A Quebec senior league player’s vicious slash to the head of an opponent was captured on video over the weekend and it is brutal.

During the second period of Friday’s Beauce Bellechasse Frontenac senior league game between the Justiciers de Saint-Joseph and the Éperviers de Bellechasse, Justiciers player René-Dave Pelchat was skating through the defensive zone when Louis-Philippe Carrier connected with a two-handed swing.
Carrier was penalized and given an automatic three-game suspension for the act, with the league issuing a statement saying that an investigation is under way and a heavier suspension could be announced.
The wild thing here is that during the game Carrier was only penalized. He wasn’t kicked out and ended up forcing overtime with a late goal. Also, Pelchat came back to the game in the third period feeling nauseous with blurred vision and a suspected concussion because, as he told the Journal de Quebec, “It is pride. I love hockey, but I might have thought about my health.”
Pelchat, who received an apology from Carrier via Facebook after the incident, was back on the ice for Game 3 of their playoff series Saturday night.

It wasn’t clear exactly what set off Carrier and no police complaint has been filed yet.
“Certainly it is a gesture that I condemn and that I regret very much. Indeed, it does not represent the kind of player and person I am, not at all,” Carrier told the Journal.
