QMJHL Roundup: Islanders beat Eagles 3-2 to extend win streak

SYDNEY, N.S. — Thomas Casey and William Trudeau scored 25 seconds apart in the second period, and the Charlottetown Islanders held on to beat the Cape Breton Eagles 3-2 on Friday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play.

Colten Eliis stopped 21-of-23 shots to help Charlottetown earn its fourth straight win and 19th in its last 20 games.

Ben Boyd also scored in the second for the Islanders (34-5-0).

Emile Hegarty-Aubin and Liam Kidney found the back of the net for the Eagles (12-25-5), who have lost six straight and 9-of-10 overall.

Cape Breton goalie William Grimard turned aside 33-of-36 shots.



SAINT JOHN, N.B. — Bennett MacArthur's second goal of the game and 28th of the season broke a 4-4 tie at 14:12 of the third period, and Jacob Melanson had a goal and two assists as Acadie-Bathurst (20-10-2) edged the Sea Dogs (15-13-5).
