QMJHL Roundup: Fortier caps hat trick with winner, Wildcats edge Mooseheads in OT

HALIFAX — Gabriel Fortier capped his hat trick with the winner 22 seconds into overtime, and the Moncton Wildcats edged the Halifax Mooseheads 4-3 on Thursday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Philippe Daoust also scored for the Wildcats (2-4-0) while Vincent Labelle tacked on four assists.

Dakota Lund-Cornish stopped 33-of-36 shots for Moncton.

Zachary L'Heureux, Cameron Whynot and Robert Orr supplied the offence for the Mooseheads (3-4-2), who got 37 saves from Brady James.

The QMJHL's Maritimes Division is the only division currently in action due to COVID-19 restrictions in the province of Quebec.
