Pro golfer Corey Conners and his wife Malory have a lot to celebrate. After missing five cuts in his last six tournaments, Conners broke through at the Valero Texas Open over the weekend. He won by two strokes and picked up his first professional win ever.

What makes Conners’ win even more amazing is that he didn’t even have a spot at the Valero Texas Open to start the week. Conners emerged victorious in the Monday qualifier, which gave a competition spot to the top finishers. Conners won the six-way qualifier, which earned him the chance to compete in the tournament.

Corey and Malory went on a journey during Sunday’s final round. Corey’s journey was golf. Malory’s journey was nervously watching him play golf and serving reactions that everyone could relate to. Here she is watching him try to sink a birdie with a cup of wine in one hand.

In this next clip, Malory is without her wine (hopefully she drank it to calm her nerves), and is in shocked disbelief as her husband makes another birdie.

Malory’s earlier reactions were just the appetizers to the main course, which was Corey becoming just the fifth Monday qualifier since 1980 to win the tournament. Malory could barely handle watching him nail the final short putt, and it’s impossible to understand how she didn’t just collapse to the ground in utter relief after the ball fell into the hole. She didn’t collapse — she ran over to her husband and jumped into his arms.

Later, the two of them watched themselves experience Corey’s final round and emotional win, and seeing them react to it is almost as good as the original footage.

This win is more than just a win for Corey and Malory. His rookie year on the tour was a roller coaster, with some great finishes mixed in with a number of disappointments. Winning the Valero Texas Open doesn’t just give him his first PGA Tour victory, it also gave him an invitation to the 2019 Masters (a course he played when he was an amateur), and a whole lot more.

This one win gave Corey and Malory a lot of security for the next year, and a lot fewer Monday qualifiers. Hopefully the couple has a chance to celebrate before they head to Augusta for the Masters, which starts on Thursday.
